AKTIVADERM® ND - The first skincare treatment with active probiotics for neurodermatitis

AktivaDerm® ND feeds the skin with the unique bacterial complex Baplexin® 62, developed by scientists (dermatologists) in collaboration with MEDICE. The special feature: nine live bacterial strains were specifically adapted to the skin requirements of neurodermatitis patients to develop this innovative medical skincare product.

The uniquely formulated AktivaDerm® ND skincare product at last enables expansion of the basic care remedies for neurodermatitis by a practical, novel method. It suppresses the pathogen Staphylococcus aureus, which plays a major part in the emergence and evolution of neurodermatitis, and restores the natural balance of the skin microbiome (also known as skin flora) whilst actively treating and regenerating irritated skin. A clinical study involving users of AktivaDerm® ND has shown1: Skin condition improves rapidly, pruritus and dryness are eased appreciably and colonisation by the causative pathogen Staphylococcus aureus was reduced by 83.5%. Other preparations containing active substances were discontinued at least 7 days before the study started.

The special feature: The unique bacterial complex Baplexin® 621 contains active probiotics, i.e. live micro-organisms. In comparison with dead bacteria or other formulations (e.g. lysates, extracts, fermentations), they have the advantage that they integrate themselves into skin flora and so are able to stabilise it in the long term. Permanently de-activated micro-organisms are unable to do that.

AktivaDerm® ND is used selectively to bathe the affected skin areas. Alternatively, with small children or skin areas where selective treatment is not suitable, cloths soaked in a solution of the skin treatment can be applied.

AktivaDerm® ND can be used for basic treatment as well as for acute flare ups - also in addition to ongoing treatment - as a practical complement to targeted skin microbiome stabilisation. It is very well tolerated, dermatologically tested, free of chemical constituents and is also suitable for children under three years of age.
