75th anniversary celebrations for MEDICE: From the Pütter bandage to the MEDICE Health Family

MEDICE is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. To mark this impressive milestone, the company held two anniversary celebrations on 27 and 28 June with many festive moments.

75 years ago, Gustav Pütter founded MEDICE Arzneimittel Pütter GmbH. With visionary strength and entrepreneurial skill, he and later his son Dr. Sigurd Pütter laid the foundations for today's healthcare company MEDICE Health Family. "Our origins define who we are and give us the stability to shape the future," says Dr. Katja Pütter-Ammer, Managing Partner of MEDICE.

On this basis, the company has now developed step by step under the management of the third generation, Dr Katja Pütter-Ammer and Dr Richard Ammer, from a pure pharmaceutical manufacturer to a provider of multi-modal healthcare solutions. With digital and nutrition-related concepts, the existing substance-based therapies are supplemented around the established competence indications. After 75 years, the MEDICE Health Family thus stands for a comprehensive and future-orientated understanding of health.

The first ceremony began with a warm welcome and an emotional speech by Managing Partner Dr Katja Pütter-Ammer, who shed light on both the past and the future of MEDICE.

A musical interlude by the well-known group "Gospel-Kollektiv" was followed by a high-calibre lecture on the future of medicine by Thomas Schulz, reporter for the SPIEGEL editorial team and bestselling author. In the subsequent discussion between the author and Dr. Dr. Richard Ammer, the opportunities and risks of future medicine with its innovations such as algorithms, artificial intelligence and big data were once again brought into focus, particularly for medium-sized companies.

In his video message, Hendrik Wüst, Minister President of North Rhine-Westphalia, congratulated MEDICE on its impressive company history and paid tribute to its achievements. At the same time, he recognised the company's enormous contribution to the economic and social strength, not only of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, but of Germany as a whole. "MEDICE is a fine example of the many medium-sized companies in our country. Remaining loyal to Germany as a business location, they are the foundation of our economic strength and have ensured prosperity, jobs, social security and social stability for decades." The Minister President also emphasised that MEDICE is a company for which tradition and innovation go hand in hand. This innovative strength is urgently needed for the important task of becoming a climate-neutral industrialised country.

The Health Family's social commitment also includes MEDICE's generous donation to the educational workshop in the foundation yard of the "NaturSpielWerkstatt Lindenhaus e.V." association in Iserlohn, which was announced at the event. In the run-up to the anniversary days, MEDICE made a special request to all invited guests: Instead of gifts on the occasion of the company's anniversary, donations to the Iserlohn Stiftungshof were called for. The donation will enable the association to expand its educational programme at the Stiftungshof and sensitise even more children to topics such as environmental protection, nature conservation and sustainability. "We are convinced that education is the key to a sustainable future. The NaturSpielWerkstatt Lindenhaus association makes an invaluable contribution with the educational workshop at the Stiftungshof by giving children an understanding of nature and its protection," says Dr. Katja Pütter-Ammer, Managing Partner of MEDICE.

Second ceremony: Family celebration for all employees on 28 June

In the spirit of a traditional family business, the second anniversary celebration on 28 June was all about family. All employees and their families were invited to a cheerful family celebration.

As part of the official stage programme, the inauguration of a new highlight on the Iserlohn premises took place. The "Health Family Park" is not only a place for relaxation and recreation, but also a symbol of the Health Family's philosophy of sustainability. With the inauguration of this park, MEDICE is setting another example for sustainability and environmental protection.

Numerous colourful programme items provided entertainment for young and old: from a hands-on circus and bouncy castles to taekwondo and discovery tours in the new "Health Family Park" - there was something for everyone. In addition to the atmospheric live music, a special highlight was the drone show, which impressively illuminated the night sky over the Iserlohn site in the evening and presented a variety of visual impressions of the company's history.

The physical well-being was also well catered for: various food trucks and food stands offered a varied, healthy and sustainable culinary offering that left nothing to be desired.

Outlook for the future

The anniversary celebration provided a wonderful opportunity to look back on the past 75 years of MEDICE and celebrate its many successes. At the same time, the company took a look into the future with all its guests and presented the Health Family's vision and mission for the coming years.
