BAH and BPI throw away historic opportunity

BAH e.V. and BPI e.V. break off merger talks. The aim of setting up a broadly based union with Pharma Deutschland e.V. covering all the aspects of pharmaceutical medicine has come to nothing for the time being. The conditions for achieving this aim have never been so good as now.

The creation of "one voice", a representative lobby for all pharmaceutical producers, was the aim. "I do feel that the differences regarding finance, structure and culture can be resolved and so I still see the aim of setting up one association," was the opinion of one employee at managerial level at Medice, still actively represented in both associations.

Said Dr. Richard Ammer, managing partner at Medice, "Perhaps the foundation of an umbrella association, which BAH and BPI and others could join, would at least be an evolutionary step in the right direction."
