Resistance to antibiotics is advancing around the world and, according to the World Health Organisation, is threatening to destroy decades of research. And urology is not immune to this problem either. In order to defuse the situation, fewer prescriptions for antibiotics must be made and effective alternatives not involving antibiotics need to be found.

According to a current post-hoc analysis, a herbal aquaretic obtainable without a prescription, based on a fixed combination of three herbal active substances, seems to bring about rapid relief from symptoms. Taken at an early stage, recourse to antibiotics could be avoided. (Marie Fahrenhold).
