MediBee – MEDICE launches its own bee project

Bees play a key role in the natural ecological system. Today, they are a major topic of public interest and are more in need of protection and support than ever before. This explains why MEDICE uses its extensive green site on the edge of Iserlohn to make an active contribution to the protection of bees by having its own bee colonies.

"At the same time, by keeping bees, we are also reviving an old family tradition," reveals Dr. Katja Pütter-Ammer, managing partner, “because my grandfather used to keep bees and produce honey on this site."

Then as now, bees find ideal living conditions on the company site with its abundant trees and grassland. Also, the outdoor areas around the new administration building have been designed specifically to encourage bees by including an orchard and flowering herbaceous perennials. In connection with this, May saw the company's employees working together in a major planting scheme. Now they are looking forward keenly to the first batch of MEDICE honey.
