MEDICE opens a subsidiary in Moscow

Pharma company MEDICE Arzneimittel Pütter GmbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Iserlohn, steps up its international activities and founds MEDICE OOO as a subsidiary in Russia.

Currently with a staff of 7, the company markets cold remedies Meditonsin® and Dorithricin® from its Moscow location. Dorithricin® from MEDICE is one of the top ten sore throat remedies on the Russian market. Last winter, it was even the market leader in the Moscow conurbation. With over 145 million inhabitants and a long winter season, Russia is the second largest sore throat product market in the world.

Confirms Torsten Braumöller, Head of the International Division, "Founding a subsidiary in Moscow was an important step for MEDICE. Opening up international markets is one of our key strategic aims. Russia currently provides especially interesting market conditions for our products."

MEDICE was founded in 1949 by Gustav Pütter in Iserlohn. Today, the company is run by Dr. Katja Pütter-Ammer, 3rd generation family member. With a workforce of around 600, MEDICE operates around the world in over 50 markets and maintains its own subsidiaries in Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway.
